Dear Club Secretary,
Those of you who were at the South Eastern
Centre Annual General Meeting last Wednesday will have heard about the new
'fixed penalty' notice being introduced from 1st February 2006.
So it is clear to all, I was asked to inform all
South Eastern Centre clubs - hopefully clearly and unambiguously - so here
goes.
At every event held under a Permit issued by the
South Eastern Centre, a form (titled "Event Return") has to be completed
with the numbers of competitors who have started the competition, listed in
various categories.
If there is an ACU Steward at the event, the
form is agreed and signed by that Steward and the Secretary of Meeting.
The form must be sent to Ken Piles, the Permits
Secretary, whose address is printed on the form, WITHIN 7 DAYS after
the date of the event. Failure to do so will incur a penalty of
£10 per day thereafter.
Ken Piles calculates the insurance and other
fees and sends an invoice to the Club (normally the Secretary of Meeting,
but he will send to the Club Secretary or Treasurer on request).
A cheque for payment must be sent to Ken Piles
WITHIN 7 DAYS after receiving the invoice.
Failure to do so will incur a penalty of £10 per day thereafter.
All penalty payments will be donated in full to
the ACU Benevolent Fund at the earliest opportunity.
If there are any problems - the dog has eaten
the form; the Treasurer has run off with the cheque book; etc. - you must
let Ken know straight away. His phone number is 01732 847127.
Please tell people in your club who need to know
about these time limits and penalties.
Yours sincerely,
Peter Burrell
SE Centre Secretary
